Western Food

Or non-Taiwanese food...

Indian food

Ice chocolate...definitely Swiss Miss with ice

Chicken chili pasta

Mushroom and pesto pizza

Mediterranean food

Chicken Pad Thai

Thai shrimp curry

Lemon juice

Noodles

There are tons of cheap, fast food stands and restaurants that sell some great food.
The noodles come in a plastic bag, not very appetizing
Once out of the bag it's a different story!

Night Market Food

Taro, pork, and corn deep fried

Mixed rice and soup with noodles and pig intestine

Shaved ice with different sweet beans, jelly, and all kinds of stuff

Stinky tofu. It's called stinky because you can smell it from far away, and it sure does stink. Not a fan.

Bubble milk tea with brown sugar bubbles

Din Tai Fung

Din Tai Fung is a famous dumpling restaurant specializing in xiaolongbao, or small steamed buns. I've been wanting to go there since I got to Taipei, but there is always a line around the restaurant and a several hour wait. It was definitely worth the wait!

Xiaolongbao, or soupy dumplings.

Spinach

Pork and Sticky Rice Shiaomai

Shrimp and Pork Potstickers

Zongzi

Zongzi, or sticky rice dumplings are the traditional food of the Dragon Boat Festival. Surprisingly, I couldn't find any at the actual Dragon Boat races.

Luckily, my friend gave me a delicious, homemade one to try.

Wrapped in a bamboo leaf, the zongzi is full of sticky rice and a variety of different fillings; in this case pork and beans.
